Full closure to traffic on Bristol Road in Selly Oak (between Heeley Road and Chapel Lane) from 8pm on Friday 18 January to 5am on Monday 21 January. If the opportunity arises to open the road earlier than this it will be taken.

This is for removal of a crane used for the construction of the new Sainsbury’s store.

Pedestrian access will be maintained. All traffic, including buses, will be diverted via Aston Webb Boulevard.

Traffic travelling north, towards the city centre, will be diverted off the Bristol Road at Harborne Lane and re-join at the junction of Aston Webb Boulevard and Bristol Road, at the Tesco Express/Esso Garage. Traffic travelling south, towards Northfield, will be diverted off the Bristol Road at Aston Webb Boulevard and re-join at Chapel Lane.

Selly Oak station car parks will be accessible from Bristol Road southbound or from the Heeley Road entrance. Vehicles travelling to Selly Oak station from the south will need to follow the diversion route.
