Our aim is to be the bereavement service of choice.

To achieve this, we will:

  • provide a sensitive and caring service to the bereaved
  • always treat the deceased with dignity and respect
  • compare our services with similar services each year
  • organise dignified and respectful burial and cremation services
  • ensure our cemeteries remain clean and tidy
  • maintain cemeteries and crematoria so that they provide a safe and calming environment
  • establish ‘Friends of Groups’ for cemeteries or crematoria where there is public interest
  • provide burial methods choices for our communities, where feasible
  • provide access to support groups for the bereaved
  • provide regular clear and easy to understand information updates for the service’s users, in different languages as required
  • value our customers’ opinions and comments, using them to improve our services
  • consult and involve stakeholders where appropriate
  • reduce our carbon footprint in operating our services
  • devise a customer satisfaction index to measure how we are doing.

Bereavement is a difficult time for all; we aim to reduce anxieties at this time of sadness.
