Birmingham's Monarch Beach 2009
 

The popular city centre beach returns to Chamberlain Square in Birmingham this year, sponsored by Monarch. Free and open daily, the beach will be a great family friendly attraction, and will also provide an idyllic urban oasis for city centre workers and visitors to relax.

Open to the public: from 2:30pm

Open daily until 13th September
Sunday to Thursday: 11am - 6pm
Friday & Saturday: 11am - 9pm

Urban Oasis
The Monarch Beach will be the only city centre beach in the UK, and will this year cover 577 square metres and make use of over 110 tonnes of sand. The BRMB stage will be presenting plenty of live music and entertainments and the BRMB Beach Bar and Cafe will offer drinks and refreshments to visitors.

Around the World in 80 Days
Sponsor, Monarch Airlines and their partner, 96.4 FM BRMB will be inviting visitors to the beach to escape and sample the sights, sounds and tastes from countries around the world as well as showcasing the great range of Monarch flights and holidays that are available from Birmingham to Europe and beyond.

Each week will feature a different destination with themed music, entertainment, activties and refreshments to enjoy. On Sunday afternoons a family film matinee will show popular films linked to each destination.
