Please Note : This document has now been revoked and is no longer in use

The Development Brief for the Pitts Farm Estate in Erdington contained a set of proposals to transform the estate through a range of new and improved houses for sale, rent and shared ownership.

It set out standards for design, layout and construction to ensure high quality development. It was used when determining planning applications on the estate as it was adopted as Supplementary Planning Guidance in 2004.

In addition, Pitts Farm was designated a ‘Home Zone’ challenge area, through a Government pilot in 2002. This brought with it significant investment in landscaping, play areas and traffic calming, to make the shared highway and public spaces on the estate safe and attractive. The Development Brief reflects this designation.

Since then Pitts Farm has benefited from substantial redevelopment and having achieved most of its aims, the document has now been revoked.

A copy of the Development Brief is below, along with a map showing the area covered by the proposals.
