About Birmingham’s Adoption and Fostering Service
At any one time Birmingham City Council is responsible for about 2000 ‘looked after’ children. We try to find stable, secure and caring homes that suit each child’s age, ethnicity, religion and culture, and also their emotional, educational and physical needs.
Birmingham’s Adoption and Fostering Service is a team of dedicated staff who recruit, assess, train, approve and support suitable temporary and long-term foster carers and adoptive parents for children.
No other agency within the city boundaries has direct responsibility for the children who need looking after. We do. And we care about this very much. Could you?
