Introduction
Birmingham City Council,
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council
Travel West Midlands and
Centro are working together to provide extensive new priority measures for
the outer circle (Route 11) bus service.
2001-2004
2003 saw work carried out on the bus stops. This involved the upgrading of kerbs and paving at a number of stops to allow the use of
low-floor easy access buses, as well as the provision of larger and
improved shelters at many locations. This work continued into 2004.
Periods of public exhibitions have been carried out around the route.
Feedback from these exhibitions has enabled us to tailor the proposals
to meet the needs of the whole community.
Public Consultation
The Route 11 Bus Showcase is a major
scheme which will involve upgrading one of Birmingham's most important
bus routes.
As part of ongoing Route 11 Bus Showcase Programme,
improvements are being made to a number of key junctions along the route.
